MINERAL RESCUE SQUAD, INCORPORATED
|
We are one of six all volunteer rescue squads serving Louisa County, Virginia. We chartered in 1994 but our history goes back many years to 1956.
We are a member of the Thomas Jefferson Emergency Medical Services Regional Council which covers the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, Madison, and the City of Charlottesville in Central Virginia. In addition we provide mutual aid to the counties of Fluvanna, Orange, and Spotsylvania. We are a member of the Emergency Medical Services Association of Louisa where our representative holds the office of Treasurer. We enjoy an excellent working relationship with the Mineral Volunteer Fire Department.
We have 2 NREMT-Intermediate, 3 EMT-Intermediate, and 21 EMT-B providers ready to provide care for any emergency injury or illness. All our technicians and 8 of our other members are EVOC certified drivers who safely deliver our patients to the hospitals and their crew members back home. Service coverage during the 12 am to 6 pm shifts on weekdays is provided by Louisa County Office of EMS Career Staff.
